NC Saints' Code of Conduct

Participants in the New Cumberland Saints Football or Cheerleading
Programs are expected to:
-
Keep within the defined
boundary of the playing / cheering / coaching area
-
Behave and listen to all
instructions from the coach
-
Take care of equipment owned
by the club
-
Eliminate the use of bad
language or racial / sectarian references
-
Refrain from bullying or
persistent use of rough and dangerous play
-
Show respect to other youth
members and leaders
-
Keep themselves safe
-
Report inappropriate behavior
or risky situations for youth members
-
Play fairly
-
Respect officials and accept
decisions
-
Show Appropriate loyalty and
be gracious in defeat
-
Respect opponents
-
Not cheat
-
Not use violence
-
Respect all aspects of the
game or activity by supporting my fellow athletes and my team
-
Recognize that I represent NEW
CUMBERLAND SAINTS and act accordingly
-
Do my very best all of the
time whether in practice or game situations
-
Take responsibility for my own
behavior and apologize when appropriate
-
Accept the discipline of my
coach when I’ve violated this code
-
If you bring personal items to
practice (food, drinks etc.) have all CLEARLY MARKED WITH YOUR NAME,
and be responsible to clean up your stuff, take home or
dispose
properly.
Corrective Action in the
event of infraction of Code:
-
In the event any member
verbally or physically confronts any coach, assistant, volunteer or other
participant, any coach may immediately suspend that individual from further
activity for that practice or game
-
For a repeat or different
second offense, the coach may suspend that participant for one week including
a game situation
-
Further violations may result
in permanent suspension from the Saints activities at the direction of the
Coach
-
All corrective action shall be followed with
a written notice detailing the infraction. A warning from the Commissioner
shall follow with consequence of continued infraction. Permanent suspension
is subject to an Appeal to the Review aboard Panel, and if unsatisfied, an
appeal to the full Board of Directors.
PARENT/GUARDIAN/FAMILY CODE OF CONDUCT
BRING YOUR CHILD ON
TIME; STAY FOR THE PRACTICE OR EVENT. PICK UP YOUR CHILD ON TIME.
PROVIDE A BACK UP
CONTACT NAME AND PHONE NUMBER OF SOMEONE WHO
CAN PICK UP YOUR CHILD IF YOU CANNOT MAKE IT ON TIME.
AT NO TIME ARE
PARENTS, GUARDIANS, ETC. PERMITTED ON THE PRACTICE AREA, THE FIELD, THE BENCH,
OR IN THE WATERING AREA.
Parent(s), Guardian(s), and Family Members are
expected to:
-
Require all other friends and
family to adhere to the following code of conduct as well as themselves
-
Not force the child to
participate in sports or cheer
-
Remember that the child
participates to have fun
-
Remember that the game is for
the youth
-
Inform coaches and
Commissioner of any physical limitations or ailments that may affect the
safety of the child or the safety of others
-
Learn the rules of the game,
the policies of the New Cumberland Saints, and the league
-
Be a positive role model for
your child by encouraging sportsmanship, showing respect and courtesy, and
demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, officials, and
spectators at every practice, game, or other sanctioned event
-
Not engage in any kind of
un-sportsmanlike conduct with any official, coach, player, or other parent
such as but not limited to booing, taunting, or using profane language or
gestures
-
Not encourage any behavior or
practices that would endanger the health and wellbeing of the athletes
-
Teach my child to treat other
players, coaches, officials and spectators with respect regardless of race,
creed, color, sex or ability
-
Teach my child to do his/her
best on each and every opportunity to perform the assigned tasks
-
Praise my child for doing
his/her best regardless of the outcome of the event thereby rewarding the
“best” effort and being a winner for having done one’s best
-
Never ridicule or yell at my
child or other participants for making mistakes or losing a competition
-
Emphasize skill development
and practices that develop my child to help him/her grow towards reaching
his/her own individual potential given age, experience, and development
-
Promote the emotional and
physical well being of the athletes ahead of my personal desire for the win’
-
Respect officials, coaches,
and Association leaders authority during the games and practices
-
Be responsible for all
equipment issued to my child and agree to reimburse the Association for any
equipment lost, stole, or abuse except for normal wear and tear
-
Actively volunteer to assist
the Association in field preparation, clean up, staffing and maintenance of
the snack bar.
